As part of Brixton Design Trail 2018, Stitch-School invites the people of Brixton to stitch around their 2 metre embroidery table to create a large embroidered art piece which celebrates community-making in Brixton Library.
The Supper Cloth provides a creative learning environment and a chance to get away from the hustle and bussle of everyday life, offering a place to slow down and enjoy the benefits of stitching. The Brixton Supper Cloth invites people of all ages and cultures to sit down and relax, and share stories, news, history and gossip while stitching.
The cloth is based around Stitch-School’s A-Z of embroidery stitches with some hidden word searches that reflect Brixton.
The final embroidery art piece will be put on display in the Town Hall and is made by the people for the people.
This event has been funded by a Cultural Seed GLA grant.
